The Eti Osa Maternity and Child Center in Ogombo needed help. And we knew we could do something. So we did. We didn’t go to Ogombo for a job. We went to serve, and ended up fixing far more than ACs.
Our team of verified SmartFix artisans stepped in. We brought some air conditioners back to life. Fixed electrical faults. Replaced damaged fittings. Repaired plumbing problems. Welded abandoned chairs back to usefulness. Carried out aluminum repairs on doors and windows. We even delivered fully refurbished furniture.
It was a full day of service. Done with heart. And done right.
But it wasn’t just about repairs. We also brought gifts for new mothers. It was humbling to see how much joy a little support can bring. We were warmly received by the Managing Director of the maternity center who showed us remarkable hospitality. All photos taken were with permission.
We gave much. If you priced everything we did, it would be worth a lot. But compared to what that place really needs, it was just a drop. A necessary one. If every organization, every local business, every small team found one way to give back, Nigeria would look very different. The nurses and caregivers in that center hold more than patients. They hold communities. And sometimes I wonder how we will ever repay them.
